Forget Black Tie, Dress Code is Strictly Cork

Forget Black Tie, Dress Code is Strictly Cork

It's a little restrictive around the arms...

Trendhunter magazine recently showcased 20 conepts based on innovative uses of cork.

You can see the full slideshow here, but the clear winner for outright oddity is the Corkxedo. Designed by LA designer Dave Hamilton the outfit took 10 months to put together.

Apparently there are more than 240 wineries represented with the oldest wine a 1935 Chateau Lynch-Bages. Back in 2007 the designer valued this jacket at between £35-40,ooo.

If anyone knows what actually happened to the Corkxedo, I’d love to know.

One size fits all.

Robert Mondavi used to wear a cork jacket just like it when the occasion seemed to call for it.
