And On The 8th Day Science Turned Wine into Electricity

wine fuel And On The 8th Day Science Turned Wine into ElectricityWe’ve all had the odd bottle of wine that tasted like it had just been drained from the tank of a Toyota Corrola. Now, Canadian Ice Wine maker Inniskillin has decided to turn grapes into fuel.

The winemaker has got together with alternative energy firm StormFisher Biogas to turn grapes into power. The grape waste, that had previously been shipped to landfills, will now be used to produce methane gas that will be turned into electricity.

They’re estimating that up to 2,000 tonnes of wine by-products will be recycled in this way.

Meanwhile here in England Prince Charles has turned his Aston Martin into a hybrid by turning to English Wine for the source of bio-ethanol.  The colour of his car? Green of course.

And no cheap gags about English Wine.
