Looks like you’ve made a new friend there gavino and you did pretty well out this gaffe…a free case of wine? you’ve turned into some sort of vino delboy.

Anyway the moral of this story is if you want to buy something with apple in the title but can’t eat it then don’t.i’m quite impressed with your techno babble but it might as well be in chinese again for all i understood of it.

do the chinese do wine? if so please send me a free case….

Craig. This post seems to have annoyed you for which I apologise. Rest assured, I didn’t really blame the wine for the incident and the lovely marketing guys at Concho Y Toro found this post amusing enough to send me a case of wine after the incident happened last year.

So rest assured the ‘winery’ appreciated the tongue in cheek tone of this post.

And just to confirm, my wife gave birth to our first child in February this year so I am pretty sure that I’m not impotent but thank you for the personal abuse.

YOU killed your Mac. Such a low blow to put the winery’s name in your headline. You could have just said “Malbec” or “Wine”. Seriously, In fairness, separate your carelessness from the wine brand, at least in the headline. This was nothing but fluff. You start by saying “I pontificate, procrastinate and ruminate…” so how about ending by saying “I screwed up!” Then, oh my, so nice that you have Riedel glasses (ho hum), but maybe the glass was unstable! After all, “…The cushion in my left hand barely touches the glass…” There are plenty of sites where you can talk about your computer, your “…Panic. Fear…” and, oh yes, your “… Impotence.”

My wife did that – but to an entry level notebook.

The key is to remove the battery and mains connection immediately and turn the keyboard upside down and don’t power up until absolutely dry.

Better still disconnect the battery when not in use.

Oh, I really feel your pain. I have now a MacBook Pro and enjoy it very much. My first Mac was an iBook and on the first day using the machine I slipped over the powercord and took the iBook down. I cried and did not want to start the machine again. But finally I did and it worked, only I had to put in the powercord in a special way, because it was broken. I worked with that powercord almost for eight years. And now I have my MacBook Pro and I put my powercord in a safe way and every liquid (I like wine) far away from it.
I’m writing this with my glass of wine about one meter away from me.

Wow. You know what might be worse than this story? If you were to spill wine on a friends Mac Book instead of your own, and if it happened while you were pretty much wasted and don’t even remember what wine it was you were drinking or that you even did it. And then wake up the next morning to find that your friends’ Mac Book that had been marinating in that mystery wine all night. And then to have your friend realize what happened and attempt to power up the Mac to no avail… I was that friend…
