Cambridge University has £1.67 million wine collection

Youngones 2 Cambridge University has £1.67 million wine collection When WineOfTheWeek was at college, we got our alcoholic kicks from copious amounts of snakebite and black. I can say with absolute certainty that the University we attended did not have any form of wine cellar.

If you are currently a student at Trinity College, Cambridge, then you may be pleased to know that your college is sitting atop of £1.67m of top class vino. This extraordinary revelation comes after a freedom of information request revealed the extent of the Cambridge hoard.

Other notable collections at one of England’s most celebrated places of learning include the 25,653 bottles of wine squirreled away at Churchill College and 41 bottles of Chateau Latour 1982 at Jesus College. Two bottles of the latter would pay for your tuition fees for a year. Yes 250ml of grape juice is equal to one years education.

In times gone by, to get their hands on such booty, students would have revolted.  Now their acquiescence is simply revolting.

Wine drinkers of the world unite!! Who will march with me and liberate these poor wines from the privileged few?

Anyone?

Well, in your case 3 years of drinking amounted to approximately 14 pints of Fosters.
